Introduction
The aim of diagnosis is for establishing whether something is unusual with the patient. Some diseases cannot be detected just by the naked eye, because they are not composed of visible symptoms. A diagnosis is then performed to identify whether there is something that is ailing the patient. However, questions relating to a diagnosis are largely dependent on the accuracy of the process. The PICO (T) question that would be formulated from this experience would be:
In an ICU population, how effective is daily cleansing with chlorhexidine gluconate in reducing hospital -acquired infection compared to daily bathing with soap and water?
The key terms in this scenario include; Population/Patient refers to ICU patients. The Intervention refers to the Chlorhexidine gluconate baths. The Comparator refers to Bathing with soap and water. The Outcome refers to Reduction in hospital acquired infections (Wright, 2010).
