Indiscipline among the children is on the rise because most of them spend more time on social media sites ignoring counsel from parents and guardians.What would happen if technology and mass culture took over human lives? In this day and age people cannot ima gine life without TV, computers, social networks, and instantaneous exchange of information. New technologies allow people to live a life of p leasure and entertainment which can make life easier. This view of technology makes it easier for people to be satisfied with their desire on the surface and it is easily attain. Before people use their time to think, analyze, and learn which have been substituted by hours of spending on social media. Social media websites erode family values as children take more time watching television and chatting on social media. The paper discusses the effects of social media websites on societal behavior and organizational operations.

Globally recognized social media websites include Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Social media websites support digital e-marketing with the increasing technological growth. A large part of the population across the globe has access to mobile phones, tablets, iPods and iPads (Lundgren and McMakin, 9). Availability of these equipments has set a new level of marketing far from the traditional techniques that were time consuming and expensive.

Furthermore, social media websites help in the managing risks within the business entity, thereby encouraging the sustained use of advanced technology (Blore, 10). This improves business activity flow in a stable way in that exposure to risk is reduced. Additionally, social media websites and implementation information technology has a constructive result on the supervision of people, the assets of the organization and infrastructure as well as other resources by setting up better innovation management practices that reduce running costs. Using social media websites in corporations has ensured that social media websites are used to progress and run the organizational activities sufficiently without any restrictions or objectives of the organization not being catered for competently thereby the business value is enhanced through enhanced productivity.

However, social media websites have impacted negatively on the state of socialization and interaction. Unlike in the old days when families gave guidance and comfort, family members have been replaced by social media sites. “Social media sites have created more problems than they have offered solutions”, asserts Blore. In his study, he proceeds to mention that many children suffer obesity unlike in analogue days when there were no social media websites.

Emergence of social media websites are a threat to businesses around the globe. Social media websites exposes individual and big corporations to cybercrime activities (Blore, 21). Hackers have been used by business competitors to paralyse the operations of the rival business. Use of Facebook and twitter sites has been used to transfer hate messages thereby causing instability among nations. A recent example is the Arab spring uprising that was made successful by use of social media websites.

In conclusion, technology should be appreciated for automating communication and advertising but should be blamed in equal measure for the eroding state of behaviour among the youth. Management and service delivery in organizations has been enhanced in organizations due to technological advancements. On the other hand, cultural practises have been forgotten with the increasing gap between the youth and the grownups in the society.
